About
This year’s National Center for Public Performance (NCPP) Public Performance Conference marks the 11th year the nation’s top government and nonprofit performance professionals and academics will convene to emphasize the use of data to improve the efficiency and efficacy of public services.

Every year, the event brings together the best minds in the professional and academic worlds for two days of networking and discussion on performance measurement, program innovations, best practices and emerging paradigms of public performance. Performance measurement is becoming more and more common across the public and nonprofit sectors. We seek to better understand all of the organizational characteristics that contribute to true data-driven decision making. The conversation will start at the point of measure creation, move on to data collection and analysis, and hopefully end with building cultures of creativity and data appreciation.

Proposal Submission Guidelines
Practitioners and researchers are invited to submit proposals on the application of performance measurement and improvement systems in public and nonprofit organizations, especially:
  • Designing relevant performance indicators
  • Creating a culture of data driven decisionmaking
  • Effectively collecting, storing and reporting performance data
We anticipate tracks in the following areas:
  • Innovative Practices in Public & Nonprofit Organizations
  • Creating a Culture of Performance
  • Open Data and Technology
  • Local and County Performance
  • State and Federal Performance
  • Engaging Citizens

To Apply
Submit 250-400-word proposals by email to Mallory Sullivan at msullivan9@suffolk.edu. For preferential consideration, submit proposals by July 16. All proposals should include public policy and administration implications for practitioners and stakeholders: elected officials, citizens, private-public partnerships, the media, etc. Attendees will be responsible for their own travel, meals and lodging costs. In partnership with the ASPA Section on Public Performance and Management, the conference will feature multiple, research-oriented panels designed to convey the latest in public performance scholarship for practitioners to apply in their own organizations. Submitters should indicate their interest in joining one or more anticipated tracks as part of their proposal. Selections will be made based on alignment with conference themes along with the quality and impact of the research.
